Health Centre Classifications
Within the Primary Care structure the island is divided into Health districts on a demographic basis.
Each health district is served by a series of interlocking health centres offering different levels of
service. The total population to be served in a health district is between 20,000 – 30,000 people.
Currently, the primary care programme offers curative and preventive services from five types of
health centers in each health district.
